PCSD $79.2M Bond Ballot Measure

A few weeks ago PCSD Board member (& past president) Andrew Caplan met with me to explain the bond measure appearing on the ballots which will soon arrive in our mailboxes.  We discussed a variety of issues such as:

  • What is the bond for?
  • What’s different now vs. 2015 that a bond nearly 50% larger won’t lose again by 20 points?
  • What is the scope of the “green” initiatives?
  • Where’s all the money coming from?

And a whole lot more.

I approached our discussion as open-minded as possible, but frankly I was a bit skeptical.  Yet Andrew made a compelling case.  I wasn’t there for the August Board meeting, but a spokesperson apparently provided an unsatisfactory response to the “green” initiatives issue.  Andrew provided needed clarity.  Spoiler alert—I now support the bond.

Andrew has shown himself again-&-again to put the interests of our kids first.  For example, he is one of the folks responsible last year for driving in-person learning.  Please join us to hear Andrew answer all our questions & concerns about the bond & other relevant matters.
